The stand-off started just before 10 this morning as deputies went to the home to serve papers and arrest Edmisten on charges stemming from the high-speed chase Tuesday night that lead into Wilkes County. Numerous charges are pending, including charges involving a stolen car used in the chase that was found in his front yard. Edmisten claimed he fired no shots at deputies after being tasered this morning, and alluded to an earlier incident at his home involving deputies, "I didn't fire no gun at anybody. They shot me a damn taser by God and I fell across the damn floor."
