Boone, NC — July 11, 2024 — BeanStalk Community Theatre is proud to announce its summer musical, Matilda the Musical, which will be performed at the Appalachian Theatre on July 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. and on July 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now. Adapted from Roald Dahl's beloved children's novel, this captivating production brings to life the inspiring tale of Matilda Wormwood, a young girl with extraordinary intelligence and a vivid imagination, who dares to stand up against injustice. Ella Ray is playing the role of Matilda. She is 12 years old and attends Parkway School in Boone, NC. This is her first show with BeanStalk. Ella says she was inspired to audition for the musical after watching the movie. "I thought the movie was super cool," she said. "When my mom saw the audition information, I just had to try out. I wanted to be a part of it."

A Heartwarming Tale of Triumph

Matilda The Musical is filled with humor, emotion and a touch of magic. The story follows Matilda, a little girl with a big spirit, as she navigates a world of challenges with remarkable resilience and wit. Since its debut, Matilda The Musical has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards, including several Tony Awards and Olivier Awards.
