Non-Profit-A-Thon for Pack The Bus & Back 2 School Fest
High Country Radio continues a new spotlight on non-profits in the High Country. Each month Non-Profit-A-Thon will highlight a non-profit across all four radio stations and online for an entire day.
This month's spotlight is on Back 2 School Fest / Pack The Bus, whose goal seeks to streamline local school readiness efforts in order to have a greater impact on the community. It was designed to serve any family struggling to afford the high costs of back-to-school shopping in a fun, dignified and respectful environment. Their goal is for all kids to start school feeling confident and prepared for the year ahead.
On Wednesday live from Hardin Park School, Watauga County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Leslie Alexander joined Mark in the Morning to talk about the new school year and the Back 2 School Festival / Pack The Bus initiative. You can listen to both interview segments below.
Also below, are interviews with officials with Back 2 School as they talk about the initiative, along with needs and goals for this years event.
