Two separate structure fires in Watauga County on Saturday
Fire crews responded to two separate fires in Watauga County on Saturday.
At 4:18 AM, Beaver Dam, Cove Creek, Fall Creek, Zionville Fire, Watauga Medics, Watauga Rescue, and Watauga Fire Marshal's Office responded to a report of a structure fire at 335 TUCKER TRL, VILAS.
First arriving units found flames visible engulfing a large portion of the house, according to Shane Garland, Watauga County Fire Marshal. No occupants were at the house at the time of the fire. The home was a total loss and the fire is under investigation.
At 9:20 PM, Zionville Fire, Cove Creek Fire, Beaver Dam Fire, Watauga Medics, and Watauga County Fire Marshal responded to 629 Slabtown Road for a report of a structure fire. First arriving units found fire located on the front porch extending to the structure, according to Shane Garland, Watauga County Fire Marshal.
The fire was quickly extinguished with only minor damage to the home. No injuries reported, and the fire is under investigation.
