Western Linville Gorge Sites to Close for Helene-Related Repairs

NEWLAND, N.C., Aug. 12, 2025 – The USDA Forest Service will begin work to repair damage caused by Hurricane Helene on the western side of Linville Gorge in the Grandfather Ranger District of the Pisgah National Forest starting Monday, Aug.11, 2025.

 

To ensure public safety and allow crews to complete the repairs, visitors may experience temporary closures at the following locations as construction progresses through the Old NC 105 corridor over the next several weeks:

 

·      Pinch In Trailhead

·      Conley Cove Trailhead

·      Wisemans View

·      Babel Tower Trailhead

·      Cabin Trailhead

·      Bynum Bluff Trailhead

·      Pine Gap Trailhead

·      Linville Falls Trailhead

·      Linville Falls Cabin Site

 

Work will address safety hazards left in the wake of Hurricane Helene and will include removing debris, repairing roads and facilities, grading and resurfacing parking areas, hazard tree removal and installing safety features such as new guardrails.
