Who Is Closed Today?

-Due to snow at higher elevations and areas of black ice throughout the county, especially in the Bethel, Blowing Rock and Green Valley areas, Watauga County Schools will operate on an Inclement Weather Remote Learning Day for Friday, March 21.  No students will report to school buildings.  Teachers and other instructional staff may choose to work remotely. Staff reporting to school buildings may report on a two-hour delay and should exercise caution while traveling. All K-8 students will begin instruction at 10 a.m. and follow the schedule provided by their teachers. WVA students will follow the set schedule established by WVA. All high school students will begin instruction at 10:30 a.m.

-The Holiday/ Snowday Program at Hardin Park School will open at 8:30 a.m.

-Ashe County Schools will operate on a two hour delay today, March 21, 2025. Please note due to facility issues, Westwood Elementary will have a remote learning day

-Avery County Schools - Due to black ice and snow covered roads throughout our county, we will have an optional teacher workday with a 3 hour delay for staff.  Our online professional development for our elementary schools will be this afternoon as previously scheduled.  Our middle school professional development will be rescheduled.  Our finance meeting for our non certified employees will be at 1:00pm in our high school cafeteria as previously scheduled.

-Due to ice around campus the Watauga Campus of CCC and T I will be closed on Friday, March 21st, 2025.
