The 12th Annual Cub Race is soon
The Blue Cross NC Institute for Health and Human Services (IHHS) at Appalachian State University is gearing up for its 12th annual local road race, The Cub.
The seven-mile race is scheduled for Saturday, April 29 and will wind through the scenic Valle Crucis countryside. Participants can register for the event online at ihhs.appstate.edu/cub, and early birds will be guaranteed a race T-shirt if they sign up before April 10. The registration fee is $40, which will go towards community outreach programs sponsored by IHHS, including Girls on the Run of the High Country and the Hub for Autism and Neurodiversity. Participants who register after April 11 will have to pay $50, or they can register on the day of the event from 6:30 a.m. onwards. The event organizers will give overall awards based on age categories, and all participants will stand a chance to win door prizes.
