WATAUGA VIRTUAL ACADEMY WANTS TO BECOME MORE FLEXIBLE

Watauga Virtual Academy Principal Kelly Walker intends to make dual enrollment for students more flexible.

The more customizable aspect of online learning can provide opportunities and experiences for students that in-person school cannot offer. Such advantages include giving student's the ability to focus on aspects of education they excel at while still getting educated in other fields, as well as developing time management skills for students who customize their own schedule.

Principal walker also acknowledges the importance of personal interaction for kids, both with teachers and other students. She stated that despite most of the work being online they host several in-person opportunities for both students and parents to attend.
