The Board of Directors is comprised 24 governor-appointed members from all over the state of NC, and the Watauga Arts Council has been busy coordinating with partners and preparing for their visit.
The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country will be hosting the meetings in its community room. The Turchin Center will host a pop-up gallery that will showcase the
artwork of the Artist Support Grant recipients.
The BOD members will get to see a variety of artistry from the High Country while seeing first-hand the impact of the NC Arts grants that the Watauga Arts Council administer.
In other news from the Arts Council, Boone will be joining the North Carolina Music Mural Trail as artist Scott Nurkin will begin painting the Doc & Merle Watson mural this week, that will adorn a wall at 206 Howard Street in downtown Boone.
