3 New Canines have been trained for the WCSO

The Watauga County Sheriff‘s office recently announced that they have added three new canines to their K-9 unit.

According to a press release from the WCSO their new K-9 as well as their handlers have been trained in drug detection and tracking. Lieutenant Carl Hicks is now partnered with canine diesel. Sergeant Casey Miller is now partnered with canine fox who is donated to the sheriffs office by Tim Fox father of the fallen canine Deputy Logan fox who passed away after being fatally shot in a ambush shooting in 2021. Lastly deputy Jack green is now partnered with canine Chris who is named after Chris Ward another victim of the same ambush shooting. all of these units are officially certified and ready to start serving the community.
