BLOWING ROCK WITHOUT WATER - BOIL WATER ADVISORY IN EFFECT - RED CROSS DISTRIBUTING BOTTLED WATER

The Town of Blowing Rock remains without water today after a 3 am Monday water main break empty the town's water tank and left residents and businesses with no water.

The town's public works department is working to repair the system. In the meantime, there is a Boil Water Advisory for all town of Blowing Rock water customers.

While the work is underway, the town and the American Red Cross have set up water distribution location for bottled water, at the American Legion Building, at 333 Wallingford Street, Blowing Rock. The Red Cross is issuing one case of water per family.

In the meantime, all residents and businesses that do have water are advised to boil it for human consumption for one minute, including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation, or to use bottled water.

As of 10 am Monday, there was no esitmated time for repairs.
