JUNE REAL ESTATE CONTINUES STRONG
The local housing market remains strong, even as prices and mortgage rates continue to rise.
The High Country Association of Realtors reports the first half of the year, more than 1200 residential sales totaled nearly $632 million dollars from January through June. During the month of June, 226 homes sold in Alleghany, Ashe, Watauga and Avery Counties, totaling $118 million.
The median sold price in June was $441,350, more than 31% higher than last June.
Sellers received an average of 99.7 percent of the list price last month and the median days homes stayed on market was 44 days.
The MLS reported a total of 103 tracts of land sold in the four-counties in June 2022, for nearly $17 million.
There were 576 homes listed as active inventory, 1.8 percent more than last June.
