BOONE WOMAN FACES MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES
A Boone woman has been arrested on multiple drug charges.
The Watauga County Sheriff's Office has charged Amie Catherine Coffey, 24, of Boone, with trafficking in Opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture sale and deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture sale and deliver schedule I CS and felony possession of schedule II CS.
The Sheriff's Office conducted a search of Coffey's residence in June, based on information she had been trafficking narcotics in the area. Several bags of of narcotics were discovered and she was charged with Trafficking in Opium or Heroin at that time, and given a $50,000 bond with more charges pending.
On July 6, during a traffic stop on Old 421 Deep Gap, Boone Police K9 Cinta alerted officers to the odor of drugs and while the vehicle was searched, one of the passengers was Coffey. Detectives located a bag on Coffey's person that contained what appeared to be meth, fentanyl and cocaine. She was booked under a $25,000 bond and has court dates on July 20 and September 6.
