The Cove Creek Volunteer Fire Department received a grant for Protective Gear

The Cove Creek Volunteer Fire Department received a $23,577.60 grant from the 2022 Volunteer Rescue/EMS Fund from the State of North Carolina.

The Check is being mailed to Interim Fire Chief Steve Marks to be used for purchasing personal protective equipment for fire personnel. Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey said “Fire and rescue organizations protect our communities large and small across North Carolina, but sometimes their budgets don’t grow with their responsibilities. Our emergency service personnel should be supported with the best equipment and supplies needed to do their jobs correctly and safely.”
