The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 2022 Watauga County Business of the Year Awards.
The winners were recognized during a sold-out event on January 19, 2023. Alray Tire and Automotive won the Small Business category, for growing its business yearly thanks to its operating strategy of providing honest repair with an unmatched customer service experience. AMOREM won the Large Business category for currently serving over 250 families throughout the region as well as creating an $8 million capital campaign to build a patient care unit in the High Country. Finally 180 Float Spa won the Startup Business category. 180 Float Spa faced challenges during their renovation due to the COVID-19 pandemic but was able to overcome them and officially opened in October 2020. The businesses were selected based on criteria such as staying power, growth, innovation, and contributions to the community.
