The Appalachian Journal is having it's 50th Anniversary

The Appalachian Journal, a leading publication in regional studies, is set to mark its 50th anniversary this academic year.

The journal, published by the Center for Appalachian Studies at Appalachian State University, features a range of interdisciplinary and peer-reviewed scholarly studies on various topics such as history, politics, culture, music, and ecology. Additionally, the journal includes poetry and reviews of books, films, and recordings that focus on the Appalachian Mountains region. To celebrate its semicentennial volume, the Appalachian Journal will host a special event during the 46th Annual Appalachian Studies Association Conference, which is scheduled to take place from March 16 to 19 at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. This milestone highlights the journal's significant contribution to advancing knowledge and understanding of the Appalachian region over the past five decades.
