The SAGE program at WCC can help Students
Wilkes Community College’s SAGE Fellows program has helped students achieve academic and career success by providing them with financial and academic support.
Established to help students overcome barriers to education, the program offers a $4,000 scholarship over two years, a dedicated advisor and peer mentor, study skills classes, access to all SAGE services, and leadership opportunities. The funding for the program is raised through the annual MerleFest Mega Raffle. Iris Eller, a student at WCC, credited the program for her success in college, stating that without the scholarship, she would not have been able to attend college. Eller will graduate in May 2023 and has already been accepted at Appalachian State University, where she plans to major in Accounting with a minor in Art. The SAGE Fellows program at WCC continues to help students overcome financial and academic barriers and prepare for success in a dynamic world.
