WAMY has been a Tremendous help in Covid Assistance
The National Community Action Partnership (NCAP) has released a report that summarizes its network's response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
WAMY Community Action is one part of this network, adapting their services and receiving funding from various sources to help those affected by the pandemic. This includes providing virtual case management, housing assistance and educational packets for children. The report also highlights how the network leveraged both their regular funding allocations and the CARES Act, ARPA, CRCAA and other sources of funding to help build community resilience during the pandemic. WAMY Community Action still leads recovery and resilience efforts in Watauga, Avery, Mitchell and Yancey Counties, continuing to work with other organizations to meet the needs of their communities.
