Watauga loss Against Burns

Fourth Quarter Turnovers Costly for Watauga in loss against Burns.  The Watauga Pioneers suffered their first loss of the season, in their fourth and final non-conference game, against the Burns Bulldogs with a final score of 48-28.
Sophomore quarterback Maddox Greene completed two of four passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.  Greene was also the Pioneers' leading rusher with 183 yards off of 23 carries and two touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Jackson Pryor had one
catch for 24 yards and Watauga's only receiving touchdown.  Ben Gosky led the way for Watauga defensively with 9.5 tackles. Jackson Lang contributed with 7.5 and Isaiah Shirlev had 5.5 along with a tackle for loss and was responsible for the Pioneers'
only sack.  Watauga returns home next Friday night for their first conference game of the season against Ashe County. Tune in at 7:30pm next Friday night to catch the action on 9.65 FM and 1450 AM W-A-T-A!
