Watauga's Explosive Offense, Aggressive
Defense take control early against Hibriten,
improve to 3-0 in Division Play
The Watauga Pioneers took control early en-
route to a dominating win over the shorthanded
Hibriten Panthers, who were playing without
starting quarterback Coby Wilson, with a score
of 55-7 on Friday night. The Pioneers improve to
7-1 overall, 3-0 in conference play while the
Panthers drop to 3-5 overall, 2-1 in conference
play.
Sophomore quarterback Maddox Greene completed
three of five passes for 56 yards and one touchdown.
Greene also tacked on 28 rushing yards and a score.
Senior running back Will Curtis led the way for the
Pioneers with 125 rushing yards off of 13 carries and
two touchdowns.
Senior wide receiver Jackson Pryor led the Pioneers
with two catches for 30 yards while Cole Horine had
one catch for 26 yards and a touchdown.
Cole's brother Carlton and Morgan Henry led the
Pioneers with five total tackles a piece. Watauga
had four tackles for loss as well as two
takeaways, which resulted in two touchdowns.
Cole Horine had an interception returned for a touchdown while Henry had a strip-sack fumble
returned 55 yards for a score.
Watauga remains in the high country next week as
they take on the Freedom Patriots next Friday, October
21st. Kickoff begins at 7:30pm that night right here on
