The US Soccer Federation has announced that Boone's Appalachian FC will host a First Round US Open Cup match on March 22nd.
The US Open Cup is the longest running tournament in the United States and one of the oldest in the world.
2023 US Open Cup will be the 108th version of this competition that includes the top teams in the US from amateur teams who qualify to top semi-pro teams to all lower division pro to Major League Soccer teams.
If Appalachian FC wins two games, the team will likely play Charlotte FC of Major League Soccer.
